Subcontractor is threatening to file a lien on work they were unpaid for from a GC. GC was paid in full prior to completion of work. GC is now insolvent and has not paid the subcontractor. No contract was signed by the homeowner with the subcontractor. Can the subcontractor file a lien against work that has been paid for just because the GC didn’t pay them?
