I am being threatened with a lien by ex boyfriend. He acted as General Contractor and hired subcontractors to do some work. I never hired anyone directly and there were no contracts signed. I paid him the money he said I owed him, then he did not pay the contractors. Now that I am not dating him, he is threatening me with a lien against my property. Can he file a lien if there were no invoices or contracts? I have Zelle records where I paid him money, but there are no invoices.
