The Alabama lien statute provides for a notice to owner by those who do not have a contract with the owner in order to secure your lien rights. The reason why you should send such a notice is because it will better protect you in the event of nonpayment. If you don't furnish the notice, then any lien will be limited to the amount due from the owner to the contractor.
