I recently pulled a permit in a Texas city, as an electrical sub-contractor. Two days from finishing the work for the entire project. my company was fired because my supply house delivered some equipment missing two critical components.
when notified the manufacturer explained that there had been a Covid-19 outbreak in Mexico where these components were currently being made and there was no date in the near future that manufacturing would continue.
I explained the situation and was told that i would be let go so he could save his ass from having to pay 1500 a day for going over the deadline.
now I'm out 12,000 for materials and labor and feel as if I was let go unfairly.
What is my course of action and do I have a course of action.
Something quick I'm drowning in debt and scraping by the skin on my teeth.
I want to file a lien and sue their asses off!

TexasI received a notice that a contractor that my tenant hired to do the build out of the leased space has not paid for some or all of the materials. I am the property owner, I was not notified before the materials were delivered by the vendor for this contractor on my property. So can the material vendor put a lien on my property and charge interest with the lien on materials?
AlabamaMy contractor didn’t pay a subcontractor who then file a notice of lien on me. I paid the contractor the same day I got the notification and the notice of lien is still showing active. What needs to be done to have that notice of lien taken off?
North CarolinaContractor ordered a 1000 gallon fuel cell without my knowledge as the property owner, contractor was doing dirt work on 4 different sites nearby along with mine, he didn't pay his bill with the fuel people and they are threatening to put a lien against my property, Texas is where I'm at, I assumed it was his fuel cell and just carried on, would that be legal to hold me responsible
TexasI hired a general contractor in August of 2020 to complete a kitchen remodel. We added on about $5,000 worth of stuff and removed $1,000 worth of stuff with those add ins. The contract was never written to update with the add ons or pricing... The work was mostly completed, but not in full (there’s still sealing, a few trim pieces and some electrical outlets that need covers in the back of cabinets). We paid the initial $1k deposit and the first 2 payments after that as well as an additional payment of $3k that he requested because of our add ons (needed in order to pay staff). In October he sent a final invoice via email- we had a verbal conversation (last time I saw him) of work that still needed to be done before we would pay the final invoice and that I had questions about pricing. The last time I saw his employee was 11/9/2020 when he was doing some of the work that still need to be completed. I had a cashiers check ready - because I thought he would have finished work that day and I could pay him in full. He never returned calls (had 2 calls with voicemails in November). Haven’t heard from him since (over 5 months now). He has finished work for other friends and mentioned to them, no I’m not finishing their (my) job. Does he have recourse for a mechanics lien or do we have recourse to cancel the contract and no longer pay? Do we need to show proof of hiring someone else to finish the job to offset the cost of what we owe? At what point are we relieved of obligation to his contract if he doesn’t respond to calls? I would like to finish this job and be done and am willing to pay, but only if the job is complete. Also, his contract states that the final 30% payment is due and if unpaid will accrue interest at 1.5% of the balance beginning 30 days after installation. The final balance is due at time of completion by the contractor. Since he hasn’t ‘completed’ the job- no interest can accrue until he does, right?

The developers have built four condos and in the process destroyed my mom's property line and deck. They have agreed to make the repairs in a contract but have not fulfilled the obligations under the contract. What should she do next?
New JerseyMy company a Roofing Contractor and we provided a compiled service of roof inspection and assisted with the claim approval process for a customer's roof replacement. However, once the roof was approved by the insurance company the customer did not want to have my company replace the roof because he wants to keep the depreciation funds paid by the insurance company.
There is a clause in my contracts that states "There is a $500.00 cancellations fee once the contract has been signed" The contract was signed at the beginning of the process. What recourse do I have to get the $500.00 fee? Can this be put in Levelset with an intent to place a lien?
GeorgiaWe have a signed contract with a clause that states the customer has 3 business days to canx and after that there is a 25% fee of what ever the job costs. The customer has ignored our calls and now wants to canx after a month.
MissouriLien filer did not provide 10 day notice before filing the lien? Does that make the lien invalid? If so can they refile if that one is thrown out.

I renovated my mother's house. We agreed after expenses wed split profit 50/50 and reinvest and I have that in writing. After numerous disagreements....and me completeing the entire renovation by myself in 6 months..we've got an offer for 252,000..22 more than our estimated sale price. She will not tell me how much she is giving me...I don't expect it to be half..but she won't say. It leads me to believe I'll be quite unhappy..and wants to wait until the closing...and I have no recourse. It closes in 30 days. I've told her in a week if she doesn't tell me..I'll have no choice to file a lien. What should I do to protect myself? 6 months of labor and her dealing with her selfish behavior....should I file before it's too late?

TexasIn New York, does a party who has been given a notice of intent to file a lien have an obligation to acknowledge that notice?
New YorkA friend said he would put my new alternator that I already purchased on said he would only charge me 50 bucks I gave him.60 well now he's trying to make me pay him an extra 90 on top of the 60 I gave him I told him I'm.not paying.hom.no more money can he take a lien out on my car for this 90 bucks I don't owe him? And if so what does this mean?
