intent of material lien

AlabamaNotice of Intent to Lien

I received a notice that a contractor that my tenant hired to do the build out of the leased space has not paid for some or all of the materials. I am the property owner, I was not notified before the materials were delivered by the vendor for this contractor on my property. So can the material vendor put a lien on my property and charge interest with the lien on materials?

These lien issues are very fact specific and can turn on many different nuances. Generally speaking, an unpaid balance lien can be filed after providing you notice. The specific requirement for notice for this type of lien may allow for this particular kind of lien to be filed. Give us a call and we can discuss the details and timeframes to give you a more accurate answer. 504-323-5885
