If the project is located in Storey County, then you need to file your mechanics lien with the Storey County Recorder.

The recording requirements at the Storey County Recorder’s Office are as follows:

1. You must provide the property’s legal description in your lien claim.
2. All documents must be legible enough to create a imaged record.
3. Your name, the hiring party’s name, the property owner’s name, and your attorney’s name must be indexed in the document.
4. Names must be written under signatures
5. Documents must be clearly identified by the title
6. A return address must be included.
7. Pages must be 8.5 x 11 in size.

14. Mechanics liens may only be printed in black ink.
15. There may be no more than 9 lines of text per vertical inch.
16. Pages must be single-sided.
