I am buying a custom horse trailer with living quarters from a company in Florida. I was asked to send a 50% deposit to start the trailer. It’s been a year and I don’t know if the trailer has even been started, I can not get any solid answers from the saleswoman about a completion date or even pictures of the progress. I was told trailer manufacturers are required to have a surety bond, if so, do I have a potential claim?

I have requested a copy of the payment bond numerous times from my customer and his GC but I cant seem to get anyone to share that information with me. The project was done in California and I would like to put in a request with FOIA to get the bond information. However, I don't know who I should send the request to. Can someone please tell me who I should send the request to and if there are other ways to track down a payment bond?
CaliforniaHired a contractor to replace fascia. Project started first week of February 2020, completed first week of March 2020. Six weeks later found damages. Contractor wanted second chance and tried to correct damage first week of August 2020. Filed claim with Surety Company 9/29/2020. Being told by Surety they are trying to get me full amount to reimburse for damages but there is another claim that has come in and they may need to pro-rate it. Can you tell me why I need to share the reimbursement with another customer?

ConnecticutHow does a lien work when you're bonding someone out of jail and they want your property for collateral? Will they take your property by foreclosure or will you be able to keep your property and the lien is there until you're able to pay off the debt. Or are you able to refinance the property and pay the debt that way?
ColoradoWe are about to complete a $250,000 mechanical system for a bridge. I am sub to a sub. My client tells me they will not be paid anytime soon and are in litigation with the GC. Neither my client or I am at fault on anything with this project. The GC is a mess and dragging everyone with them. Terms on my contract are 20% after drawing approval (which was paid years ago) and 80% net 30 days after delivery. Final testing is at my factory next week and i do not want to deliver product after that until I am paid or assured payment by escrow (or something like that). WHat shall I do?

GeorgiaI am a subcontractor that worked on a project that was informed it was not a public work/prevailing wage. However, the workers there stated it was a public work/prevailing wage but then they changed it. we did work and we did not submit a preliminary notice, and the GC said that we will now need to get paid via the bond and that he will send that info to me, but he has not and is putting excuses to send it to me. What do I do now?
CaliforniaI was framing a house for a contractor and Big Sky the concrete for the job was supposed to be done in May and was not completed until December and still not 100% completed the contractor refused to let me go do another job so that I can stay fed pretty much can I file a lien on the property in the state of Montana without filing a preliminary notice or can I still file the preliminary notice now he kicked me off the job on December 15 for not being there but he had the excavators tearing up the whole job site and multiple guys were injured from climbing over the mounds of dirt and alsoWe’re unable to work due to Covid that we believe they got from the architects secretary who was tested positive for Covid and came to our job site, several times I was asked to drive up to the job site which is an hour and a half drive to unload materials majority of the time they were not even for framing and I am the framing contractor also I had put in 178 man hours with my lift and my guys assisting the concrete guys and I was asked to do so by the contractor and they refused to pay me for it all the materials for the job have never been there And all the take offs for materials were not there or incomplete also his secretary coming to the job site knowingly positive for Covid and while doing so one of my workers had also gotten Covid recently after and his major complaint was that guys were not on site and the reasoning is because of Covid and because he had our job site torn apart by the excavators and multiple times have my guys been injured trying to work over and around the excavators this job was supposed to be a summer job early summer and it wasBid for that end it is now the middle of winter and concrete has just barely been finished and I have lost all my major contracts because of this and the months that I make all my money what are all my things that I can make the bond amount for on this lein
MontanaHello, I have a question regarding which party should hold a bond for excavation activities. I work for a prime utility engineering company and we frequently require the services of a subconsultant to perform small utility excavations (i.e. expose a pipe at one single location). Because the bonding process is new to our company (we only just started including excavations as part of our scope of work), we are trying to determine who should procure the bond - us, as the prime, or our subconsultant, as the excavator. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
