Hello, I have requested a copy of the payment bond numerous times from my customer and his GC but I cant seem to get anyone to share that information with me. The project was done in California and I would like to put in a request with FOIA to get the bond information. However, I don't know who I should send the request to. Can someone please tell me who I should send the request to and if there are other ways to track down a payment bond?
If this is a public project, contact the agency/pubic entity responsible for the project and ask for the contact information of the person at the agency in charge of the project. You may be transferred around a bit, but eventually you should find the right person. Then contact that person and request a copy of the payment bond for the project. If they do not have it, they should be able to put you in contact with the person who does.
