I am a material supplier working on a job in Florida. I sent a notice when my customer first ordered materials in August, and my 90-day mechanic's lien deadline is coming up. They paid, and there are no outstanding bills, but they will be placing another order on the job in the future. Since the 90-day deadline will have lapsed when they place the next order order, do I need to send a new preliminary notice to make sure I'm protected?...Read More
We are a provider of flooring goods and services to the multi-family industry in the Southwest. A key client has asked us to provide goods and services to a new construction project in Florida with an initial value of $400,000. We have licensed ourselves to do business in Florida, but as the one responsible for contract compliance in our organization I am not familiar with the Florida property code and its lien statute requirements. We are just now negotiating the contract and work has not started. I would like to know some of the "rules of the game" beforehand so that we can remain compliant and protect any rights we may need down the road....Read More

Hi. We worked on a project in NV as a subcontractor. We never received the NV 208.146 Notice from the Prime/GC on this project. What are the ramifications for the Prime/GC for not filing this notice?

I found two liens that my company filed many years ago (2012 and 2002). They still appear to be attached to the property when searched on the county's assessors page. My understanding is that liens in Washington state expire after 8 months if not enforced. If so, why are these liens still attached to the properties? Do we have any obligation to remove these liens? Can we still enforce them now?...Read More
We did some work for a homeowner after Hurricane Harvey. We were originally working with another contractor but he backed out so we did the work ourselves. The homeowner is well aware which contractor did the work on her home. The problem is she does not want to pay and the contract that was signed is from the original contractor. The invoice and the notice of intent was sent by our company but I was getting ready to file the lien and wanted to attach the contract and realized we never had her sign one for our company to replace that one. What should I do?...Read More
