The Van Wert County Recorder’s Office accepts cash and checks. Note that the County Recorder’s Office will no longer give cash or change back for checks written over the amount of the recording fee. This includes the fifty cent per parcel fee that goes to the Auditor’s office. The Auditor’s fees can no longer be added to the check payable to the Recorder. If you pay with cash, you must also have the exact amount with you.
