You can also mail your documents to the the Trumbull County Recorder’s Office.

You must make sure the documents meet all the legal requirements, include checks in the proper amounts, and a self- addressed stamped envelope so we can return your original document. Your documents will be returned unrecorded if you do not meet these requirements.

The Trumbull County Recorder’s Office does not publicly disclose information on recording backlog. However, note that the county’s document turnaround time is 3 days.

The Trumbull County Recorder’s document standardization guidelines are as follows:

* Computer font size of at least 10 point

* minimum paper size 8 ½” x 11” and maximum paper size 8 ½” x 14”

* Black or Blue ink only; no use of highlighting

* 3” margin on the top of the first page reserved for recorder, auditor and engineer only

* 1 ½” margin on top of each of the remaining pages and margins of 1” on each side of the page and on the bottom

If a document does not conform to these guidelines, an additional recording fee of $20 will be charged.

Notary stamps and seals must be in black or blue ink only. Notary stamp must be completely legible and not touching embossed seal.

Signature must be signed in black or blue ink only. If a signature is illegible, a legible, printed, typewritten or stamped name shall be placed directly under the signature.

According to statue, the statement: This instrument prepared by clause must appear at the conclusion of the document and the name printed, typewritten, stamped or signed legibly.

If the above requirements are followed, delays in recording documents will be eliminated.

The Trumbull County Recorder’s Office accepts cash, checks or money orders. Only mail checks or money orders if paying by mail.

The Trumbull County Recorder’s recording fees are as follows:

Recording Fees

Basic Recording Fee: $28.00 for the first two pages and $8.00 for each additional page

Effective October 17, 2019, the new recording fee will be $34.00 for the first two pages and $8.00 for each additional page.

Non-Conforming: $20.00 additional fee

Marginal Notations: $4.00 for each marginal reference on separate recorded instrument

Lien Fees

Filing Federal Tax Lien: $5.00

Release of Federal Tax Lien: $3.00

Release of Personal Property Tax Lien: $4.00

Copy Fees

Copies made by the public: $0.05 per copy

Copies made by the Recorder’s Staff: $2.00 per copy

Certified Copies: $2.00 per page plus $1.00 to affix seal
