Documents received after 3:30 pm will not be recorded that day, but will be held and ran the following business day.

The Highland County Recorder’s Office does not publicly disclose information on recording backlog. However, note that the county’s document turnaround time is 24 hours.

If your construction project is located in Highland County, then yes, you should file your lien here.

All documents that are notarized after July 1, 2009 must comply with the state of ohio document standards or an additional $20.00 will be assessed. (per orc 317.114)

All documents that will be mailed back after recording must have a self-addressed and stamped envelope provided.

The Highland County Recorder’s recording fees are as follows:

Basic Recording Fees: $28.00 for the first two pages and $8.00 for each additional page (Current Standard Rates)

$34.00 for the first two pages and $8.00 for each additional page (Effective Oct. 17, 2019)

Marginal Notation Fee: $4.00 per reference

Non-conforming Document: $20.00
