What are the filing fees to record a mechanics lien in Westchester County?

The Westchester County Clerk’s recording fees are as follows:

Statutory Recording Fee: $45.00
Per written side of page: $5.00 per page
For additional towns stated: $0.50 per town
For each cross reference: $0.50

Copy Fees

Copies: $1.30 for first 2 pages and $0.65 per page* for each additional page
Certified Copies: $5.00 for up to 4 pages and $1.25* for each additional page

* The maximum charge for a photocopy or certified copy of a document is $40.00.

You can use the free public viewing terminals to see if the land document you are searching for is recorded in the office and also to view the actual document image.

Mail

To request a land document, you can send a letter which contains as much of the following information as possible: the name of the document you are searching for such as “a deed”, the name of the owner, the property address including the village, town or city, the approximate date of the transaction, and the liber and page number or the control number, if known.

Include a check payable to “Westchester County Clerk” in the amount of $5.00 for each item requested plus a copy fee of $1.30 for up to two pages plus an additional 65 cents for each additional page. Cash is not accepted and all fees must be included with your written request.

For certified copies, include a check payable to “Westchester County Clerk” in the amount of $5.00 for documents up to four pages plus $1.25 for each additional page.

Also include a self-addressed stamped envelope in which your document will be returned.

If you are unsure of the fee, note the amount not to be exceeded on the check and a staff member will fill in the appropriate amount for you.
