Lien eFiling facilitates the electronic filing of lien documents via the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority eFile portal at https://efile.gsccca.org/Home.aspx. The Authority can accept lien documents for filing on behalf of participating counties using two different methods:

METHOD 1: Interested filers can contact one of the value added submitters listed below, who have demonstrated the ability to submit lien documents through the Authority portal. Payment for filings will be handled through an agreement with the selected value added submitter.

METHOD 2: All payments for filings submitted directly through the Authority eFile portal must be paid by credit card, bank account ACH transfer or escrow account. Note that a 3.5% transaction fee is applied to credit card payments and a $1.00 transaction fee is applied to bank account ACH transfers to cover costs.

The Newton County Clerk Of Courts’ Office does not publicly disclose information on recording backlog.

The Newton County Clerk’s Office DOES NOT ACCEPT personal checks for the payment of filing fees.

Make checks payable for filing costs to CLERK OF NEWTON COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT. Out-of-county service should be paid by separate check payable to the serving official. Any publication cost should be paid by separate check payable to the publisher and submitted to the clerk on filing.

The Clerk of Superior Court’s office houses all the real estate records dating back to 1821. These records are available to the public with some books remaining in storage and not easily accessible. The indexes to the records are hand written from 1821-1982. In 1983 the Real Estate Indexes were made digital and are available for view on computer printouts as well as on computer search terminals within the Clerk’s office.

Every user must have an account to view and print images. The monthly charge for a regular account is $11.95. The cost to subscribe for a Single-Use account is a one-time activation fee of $5.00. However, a Single-Use account can be upgraded to a Regular account any time before the account expires.

The images may be viewed without charge and may be printed for a charge of $0.50 per page. Any method of accessing the images other than by printing is strictly prohibited.
