Lien eFiling facilitates the electronic filing of lien documents via the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority eFile portal at https://efile.gsccca.org/Home.aspx. The Authority can accept lien documents for filing on behalf of participating counties using two different methods:

METHOD 1: Interested filers can contact one of the value added submitters listed below, who have demonstrated the ability to submit lien documents through the Authority portal. Payment for filings will be handled through an agreement with the selected value added submitter.

METHOD 2: All payments for filings submitted directly through the Authority eFile portal must be paid by credit card, bank account ACH transfer or escrow account. Note that a 3.5% transaction fee is applied to credit card payments and a $1.00 transaction fee is applied to bank account ACH transfers to cover costs.

The Clayton County Clerk of Superior Court’s Office does not publicly disclose information on recording backlog. However, note that turn-around time on recording documents varies due to the amount of documents received. Generally, the processing time is 2 to 3 weeks; however, there are times when the processing takes longer.

There are no specific formatting requirements for mechanics liens filed in the state of Georgia.

The Clayton County Clerk of Superior Court’s Office accepts cash, money order or company check (#200 or higher), Visa and Mastercard. Npte that personal checks will not be accepted. Make all checks payable to Jacquline D. Wills, Clerk Superior Court of Clayton County. A separate check should be included for intangible taxes if due.

Lien Recordings (including Lis Pendens): $5.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page

Cancellation or Release (GED) (including Lis Pendens): $5.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page

Cross-Indexing: $2.00 per cross-indexed entry

UCC-1 Real Estate Notice filing: $10.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page

Certified Copies: $2.50 for the first page and $0.50 for each additional page

Every user must have an account to view and print images. The monthly charge for a regular account is $11.95. The cost to subscribe for a Single-Use account is a one-time activation fee of $5.00. However, a Single-Use account can be upgraded to a Regular account any time before the account expires.

The images may be viewed without charge and may be printed for a charge of $0.50 per page. Any method of accessing the images other than by printing is strictly prohibited.
