VCC is a professional, fast paced general contractor working all over the USA. Their processes (contracts/payment applications/waivers/submittals/etc) are all done electronically; they've made it pretty easy and efficient to do what you need to do. I have found if you use their subcontract portal like they ask and you perform the work as outlined in the subcontract, they pay promptly. They're a great company to work for.

RE: California operation - Textura is used as an excuse to not pay for extras in a timely manner. At the projects substantial completion you will be asked to discount your retention in exchange for "early" payment. 5% discount seems to be a typical request/demand. Expect to wait several more months after substantial completion if you do not agree.

We have worked with VCC for about 22 years and are satisfied with their payment behavior. We have not filed a lien against VCC since we started to work with them in 1997 and we plan to continue to work with VCC.
