It would be so great if Levelset could make videos to help us learn the Public Works Compliance. So far I have learned from the Public Works Compliance website is that we can choose to work on Public Works projects or not. That the compliance is a game that was not made with the contractor in mind. And if we choose to play the game, we need to find creative ways to follow and abide or there will be negative consequences from a sleeping monster directed at: the awarding body, owner, contractor, sub. There are 6 Tiers of compliance and Tiers of people involved in the project. As a subcontractor the “Game”leaves me feeling very ill equipped. I only found one video on YouTube that was from 5 years ago and outdated to assure compliance. ...Read More

Now that Im learning more about Public Works compliance Im wanting to make sure I am compliant by making part of that compliance summed up in a check box form with step by step individual clear instructions and videos showing us how to accomplish each compliance per project. That is going to keep us moving forward and not fear, because we don't have any clear structure for each project. When I sit down to do the billing and paper work I expect to see the facts. IS there a form that anyone knows of that is worded or covers these things that I can make sure is filled out before it gets to me so that Im able to look at it and do my job and keep moving forward safe and confident im aware and doing what is required?...Read More

Hi, I'm a welder fabricator for a general contractor in Carson city. My employer has had numerous prevailing wage contracts that I have built a lot of stuff for. He insists that if I am not on site that I am not eligible for the prevailing wage and we weld and fabricate and try to do as many tasks as possible in the shop for our regular wage. Can you tell me exactly how this is supposed to work? I would greatly appreciate any answers. Thank you for your time ...Read More

I work for a General Contractor in California and we are looking to take on prevailing wage jobs. I have read about having apprentices and journeymen on site, but if we do not have any of our own labor and hire subcontractors on site do we need any apprentices or journeymen on our end? My understanding is that subcontractors are required to bring their own apprentices and journeymen on site. Please let me know!...Read More
