I'm a general contractor in Indiana. I used to always do jobs for insurance pricing. However, with materials skyrocketing and labor going up, I've had to be really careful about my pricing as insurance companies do not seem to be too concerned with keeping up with fair market prices. They have been arguing my pricing (mostly on roofing) every step of the way. I believe my pricing is reasonable. I offer to help my customers by dealing with the insurance companies for them, but as I understand it, I am not supposed to negotiate settlement prices on behalf of homeowners because I am not a licensed public adjuster. I've had adjusters try to negotiate settlement with me, but my price is my price. Isn't it? Are they exempt from indemnifying an insured just because they claim my price for an agreed scope is not agreeable to them? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

IndianaI filed a lien 12/9/2020 for $75,000 on an investment home I did work on. Today it went pending, do I need to do anything more to get my money at the sale.
Indianai have a written contract started a year ago, with a trustee of a house in indiana to do some work. he paid me so much down and balance due upon completion. ive completed job this week and he is refusing payment of the ballance. did i need to file a preliminary notice last year for my claim to be valid now.
IndianaWe are an Architecture Firm which provided professional services for a Client in Indiana. Per that State law, we filed a mechanic’s lien on them because they paid the retainer and no monies since. We understand the Mechanic’s Lien is only effective for 1-year in Indiana and we have been advised to Foreclose on the Client as they are the building owner for the structure which was the subject of our services.
A few questions:
1. Is it true the Lien expires? In our case, 1-year would be November 2021.
2. Should we re-new the Lien or pursue Foreclosure?
3. What are the fees and timeline associated with Foreclosing on a Client?
IndianaMy husband owns and operators his own private construction business. He completed a job approx 2 yrs ago and the customer continues to refuse to pay in full. I am not sure of how to explain all the in's and out's, but Im sure there was a falling out or disagreement of some sort between them both which she has only paid approx half of what was owed (total owed $21, 000).
