My time to enforce the lien ran out due to the covid -19 issue or can I still sue them for the funds?
FloridaWe are a broker, project manager and/or intermediary that manages projects that do not require permits such as repairs, painting, etc. We connect clients with licensed contractors. We earn a fee and/or commission in return for services rendered in matching clients and licensed contractors. Since we handle and are responsible for the transaction, if a client denies to make a payment, are we able to put a mechanical lien on the property?
FloridaWe have a customer that purchased materials. They have yet to pay us on the account. They forged an unconditional release of lien with the signature and notary stamp and provided that to the general contractor. The GC is extremely upset that they paid a scam artist company.
Can we take legal actions against this customer?

FloridaWe are a fuel company that supplies fuel to businesses (for generators, etc), contractors for machinery while on the job, floating vessels that come into local marinas. We want to start filing NTOs but we are unsure of how to file against floating vessels, or if its even possible. Also, if the construction companies are doing new construction, who would get the NTO if there is no property owner yet? Also, some companies we supply, we are only fueling their on site fuel tanks so it is a mobile customer of sorts. Can you help us figure this out so we can get started protecting our payment?
FloridaWe are a solar contractor who would be working with our customer to install a Photovoltaic System but the homeowner decided to cancel. We have a signed contract that stipulates if she cancels after our cancellation deadline, she would be charged a cancellation fee. We also have a signed Notice of Commencement that has been notarized but not yet submitted to the Clerk of Courts for recording. As a company are we within our rights to purse a mechanic lien?

FloridaWe have not worked for this General Contractor before and we have a lot of problems collecting money from Florida Contractors and just want our lien rights protected. Especially when added work over the original estimate is performed
FloridaOn July 2020 we entered into a Contract with a General Contractor : on the Project Silver Hills at Fort Myers. to build a Swimming pool on that property.
We conclude our project successfully,
on 04/06/2022 after having notice of the termination and seeing slow payment we sent an Intent to lien to the GC and the Owner since we were demanding our retainage and other small invoice for the total amount of $15K.
We received an email on 04/07/2022 from the Owner letting us know they terminated the contract with the GC and wanted to assume our contract on the same conditions of the original contract.
