I'm a member of the Environmental Commission in a NJ township. We developed, and the township committee approved, an ordinance that requires the developers of commercial solar projects to provide a performance bond as described above before they will be issued a construction permit. Our township attorney and the developer's township attorney are now in the process of negotiating a decommissioning agreement for the developer's about-to-be-installed solar array. At lease one party to that negotiation has questioned whether an NJ jurisdiction (the township) can, in fact, require the developer to provide such a performance bond, notwithstanding the ordinance. Hello, I am a general contractor in California and I am in the process of entering into a contract with a customer for a tenant improvement project. The tenant has full plans and city building permit issued which wouldn't be issued without the property owners signature of allowance in our city. What do I do as far as protecting myself if the tenant decides not to pay me? Is the property owner responsible for the payment through mechanics lean laws if the tenant decides not to pay the contract?

I am an electrical contractor in Wisconsin and I am in the process of sending an intent to lien notice to the owner and the main contractor with Levelset.
I was told that I missed my deadline to send a preliminary notice out. The Levelset team is still trying to send the intent to line to notice out.
Will I still be able to put a lien against the property if I missed my chance to send out a preliminary notice out?

I worked on a project as the Designer and General Contractor. The owners had another General Contractor threaten me to obtain the plans after they changed the locks on the property. I filed a police report after leaving the project with my tools and equipment. I have not been paid for my work and will need to file a Lien. The landlord did not file a Notice of Non Responsibility. There was a Tenant Improvement Allowance tied to the project. The unpaid sum is roughly 40,000.00. I would like to discuss the process to secure payment.
