I am a contractor operating as an S Corp. I filed a lien against client who didn’t pay despite the work done well and completed. Deadline passed at this point. Just realized I put my own name as Claimant, not my company name. Was this a mistake? Could it invalidate my claim? The client job contract signed had my signature on it (same signature as on the lien paper).
OregonI am trying to file the lien myself and then will serve it to the client.
The county clerk is saying my “affidavit of lien for a General Contractor” isn’t for a mechanic’s lien.
I downloaded the form from the Levelset website.
Are there instructions on how to fill out each page?
The clerk seemed as lost as I was.
TexasMy brother is part owner of a mechanic shop. We were working on my vehicle together on the weekends when the shop was closed. He became to busy to work on it so it sat. We had a falling out, and now he wants to put a mechanics lien on the vehicle for storage. He has never asked me to pay storage and now claims the bill is $250. I tried to have a towing service remove the vehicle and he said they could not take the vehicle. I have no idea what my options are. Thank you so much for your time.

KentuckyA condo association hired a contractor to replace the roof on our building. My 99-year old neighbor then left to go to lunch during the repair. Soon he had to pull over because of a flat tire warning on his car. Come to find out all 4 tires were flat and he had to have his car towed to get new tires. The condo association is saying they will not reimburse him because he cannot prove the roofing nails came from the local project. Is a Florida Mechanics Lien the next step?

TexasI was hired as a subcontractor to do work on abunch of lots for a subdivision being built.
I was hired by a guy that was hired directly by the Developing company.
After months and months of promises and begging to be patient, and that they will pay as soon as the check comes in “This week” they say and fighting to get paid, the Contractor guy that hired me continues to say that he still hasn’t gotten paid by the developer, in return means he can’t pay me. It just continues on & on & on!
Dating all the way back to early June/21 until Aug/21.
(It Was from February, but they caught up Feb, March, April and May in the month of July, but I stopped working for them starting in September cause my owed invoice balance kept snowballing up to $30k, so I have not received any payment for any work done from June/21 to Aug/21.
So Awhile back I had told him to put a lein on the subdivision to try and get them to act right, he states that the developer made him sign some papers to legalize that he wouldn’t be able to do that and that he couldn’t do that and won’t do that.
So my question is this, how can I go AROUND my guys head that hired me and what action can I take in order to get him paid so he can pay me? Cause he says he can’t do anything and we just have to wait.
But my patience is running thin and I have bills running a business just like anyone else, and when you go a few months with no paycheck that’s continuously being promised to you, that hurts not only you, but your whole family/Home.

New YorkWe only provide materials to the sub-contactor that installs the elevator controller. We have no records of if or when our materials were delivered or installed on the property. According to the NYC records this job has been delayed and no elevator records exist for this property which indicates it has not been installed or inspected by the city. What are our rights to lien?

If we are a subcontractor to a GC, the project is public and owned by the community college district, can we still file a mechanics lien for non-payment?
