I know Iowa requires a preliminary notice of lien rights be provided to the customer before work begins or soon after.
That being said, we do not have an "official form" for this; however, the fine print on our contract has a line that says the following:
"Pre-Lien Notice: company hereby provides notification that any person or company supplying labor or material for this improvement to your property may file a lien against your property if that person or company is not paid for their contributions. Upon default in payment, a lien will be placed on the property and charges will be added from the date of substantial completion at the maximum rate allowed by law."
Is this sufficient, or is there an actual official form that's needed in Iowa?

IowaI have paid 1100 out of a 1400 crappy roof patch job . The remaining 300 was sent regular mail , man claims not received , I have sent a certified payment which person has not received and is now threatening a lien . What can I do

After emailing the GC several times, we received a response that they had already received the certificate of occupancy and that we would not get paid for the items mentioned above. Can we still file a lien? Is there a way to get our payment?

I am reaching out requesting assistance on determine the best last day worked to use as we prepare to file a mechanics lien for nonpayment.
The two dates we have are:
October 25, 2021
December 8, 2021
The October 25, 2021 date is last day worked as part of the original contract, with a significant amount of work being done.
The December 8, 2021 work was part of the original contract work that was not completed in October; it was not warranty or punch list item work. It was part of the original contract.
Given this information on the difference of workload between both of these dates, what is the recommendation for which date should be used as last day worked on the lien?

FloridaMy family received a mechanics lien from a construction business we have never worked with. When we reached out to the business to get details on the work they believed they had done, we received no response. I have completed a notice of contest for the Georgia clerk's office but I want to make sure I submit to the necessary parties. Should I submit it to the clerk's office only or should I send a copy to the business' address on the lien? Also, what steps should I take after the 60-90 days if no response has been received? FloridaI’m an automotive technician and I put a motor in a guys truck and the guy died while the truck was at my shop. I never received payment and the son reported the truck stolen because I wouldn’t release the truck to him unless he paid me for the service I provided. It’s been a few months now and I still haven’t received payment or even heard from my customers son or family. What are my options I’d sell the truck to make the money back but I can’t with it reported stolen.
MissouriI agreed to cut down 4 trees by my self,. The first one I cut down in a day, at the end of May the 28th I was only paid 100 dollars, but the whole job wasn't finish, so I didn't worry about the rest, yet cause candy the lady who's house it was, didn't have the funds yet, I said ok,. 3 to 4 weeks went by and candy. The original deal was for 300 per tree,. But since I had to wait one of them would give me 500 per tree for waiting for payday.
