Received down payment on 8/25/2017.
I didn't start on this job until mid September.
Finished in early October.
I have sent emails with invoice a few times.
No response or contact form him at all.
He has renters at this address.

WashingtonOur customer is a CA-based company but the job site is in Kansas. Should I follow the lien law and notice requirements for Kansas or California if the contract states that "California laws prevail"? Which type of preliminary notice do you recommend I send through zlien?
KansasI have failed to file a Notice to Owner in TN. I am now almost 90 days out from completion. Do I have any lien options?
TennesseeWe have a nonperforming sub, whose contract was supplemented by another. They provided a preliminary notice, but have no right to their full contract due to change orders written for supplementing their work. We as the General are due change orders and retention on the contract with owner yet, so are questioning if we should be asking the owner to file the notice of completion on the job yet or not. This would shorten the lien window that the sub would have, but could possibly hurt us, as we have open items with the owner yet. What is advisable?

ArizonaI am an Architect and I am owed 50k for architectural services for a contract directly with the owner. My invoices are over 4 months old. Can I send updated or corrected invoice to be under 4 month deadline? Also we have continued to work on the project at the owners request and he issued 2 post dated checks which did not clear. Can this suffice as evidence for the 4 month rule?
TexasWe have contract with a customer that we installed a new HVAC system in his home and after installation (before we had completed job to 100%) he expressed his 3 day right to cancel after the 3 days. He has demanded for us to come and remove the equipment under the condition that he not be at the location. We had refused this as we will not go to his home with out him there. He is refusing to pay any amount on his contract. We are unsure of what our legal rights are and what our next step should be.
Californiawe were contracted to install carpeting in two apartments which came to 140 yrds we completed the job and now its a paper chase and we have singned contract agreement. when we call all we get is voicemail . contact persons name is judi and the super of complex name is tom and he said he told her job was completed and a great job was done and she was suppose to call us we have not received that call and spoke to her once and we made that call and now when we call it goes to voice mail thay as three days ago
New JerseyThe initial notice was sent via certified mail to the previous address of the homeowner and was returned because well, he didnt own that property anymore and wasnt living there.
Washington requires service by certified mail for initial notices but it was then resent by regular mail. Would this still be considered a valid service of the initial notice?
WashingtonOur existing process has been to update the primary contract pre-lien with the subsequent change orders. This however does not favor the sub-contractor, as I don’t want the lien dates to be continually reset for relatively small change orders. I would prefer, if the change orders are over $1000, to submit pre-liens on those and let them stand on their own.
I have an example of a primary contract order of approximately $150k. The primary job is now complete and I want the lien clock to start, so I will press for final payment within 60-days, on the outside. We may be getting a change order for around $1500, which I would like to treat separately and not reset the clock on the main job.
Is this an acceptable approach and fall within the lien rights of sub-contractors?
ArizonaOur customer gave us the incorrect project info and the prelim notice went to a homeowner rather than the HOA address where the community pool is that we supplied material for. We last supplied material on 6/30/17 and they are refusing to pay roughly 30k. Is it worth attaining legal counsel or have we lost our lien rights based on the incorrect NTO that went out?
WashingtonWe installed retail displays in 64 locations throughout the Midwest for an IL display manufacturing company. The displays were installed and client is refusing payment, trying to negotiate it down to a small percentage, as we have found them to do with others in the past.

CaliforniaSo we supplied material to a job in Oregon. The job is with the Hood River Co. School District. I sent out a preliminary notice when we sent the material. The job was billed on 7-18-17. I call the Contractor that we are supplying to and they said that they haven't been paid yet by the school district. Should I be filing anything yet since the 75 day mark is approaching?
