I got into an investment opportunity with somebody who I came to an agreement of giving $5000 before January 1 which I did, and then return would receive $500 weekly for 52 weeks. They paid me early the first week and did not pay the second week and Have had little contact with me. They also live in Peru but are a US citizen. Able to get my money back? I also missed rent and had to liquidate investments at a loss or a potential gain Because I was promised the money by Monday and every Monday.

ColoradoHello Experts- I hired a roofing company to do roofing, gutter, some pillar repair as part of hail damage in May 2019. They did the roof in Nov 2019 and gutters in February 2020 and they have not completed other work as promised. Also we filed the claim in May 2019 and they 8 months to complete these two jobs. On top of it they haven't given me what kind of gutters were replaced in my house- Means no communication tothe homeowners to what kind of being done. The total bill was 30k and I paid 15k and i did hold of the rest since they didnt complete the work and i dont want them to complete the rest of the work since I waited for too long and I am pissed now. Today i received a mechanical lien notice in the mail.
Last work was done in february 2020 and now its close to 11 months- Can they legally put a lien against my property since I heard its only 4 months time to do the mechanical lien? I wanted to know from you guys - How do i handle the situation?

WisconsinI'm a contractor, I have a signed contract to assist in rebuilding a residence after a fire. The contract was signed in May, The city signed off on the CFO in August. The homeowner who is/was a friend was going to refinance and pay me. Colorado"Furnishing labor, professional services, materials, or equipment" means the performance of any labor or professional services, the contribution owed to any employee benefit plan on account of any labor, the provision of any supplies or materials, and the renting, leasing, or otherwise supplying of equipment for the improvement of real property. Does this mean that the 90 day period to file a lien is valid from the date the labor was last provided onsite or the date the laborer was paid for his services from his employer? What is making me question this is "the contribution owed to any employee benefit plan on account of any labor".
WashingtonHello, I am wondering if there is any way I can lien a property here. It's a new construction single family home. We did the plumbing rough-in and also the HVAC rough-in on this place. The plumbing was done back in late September. The HVAC was done in October. I agreed to wait on the funds till they closed on the place which was supposed to be in November. That has not happened and we have not done the finish work yet. I just wanna cover my grounds and hopefully put a lien on the place but not sure that it's possible at this time in the project.

MinnesotaI had a roof installed in 2019. The contractor provided a final invoice November 2019. We have paid $10,000 of $13,701.98. I have attempted to contact the contractor multiple times to discuss final payment as there were three issues I wanted to address before payment. I had asked that the invoice reflect a line item specifically for debris removal as it would be covered by insurance; there was a manufacturer's rebate for veterans that did not appear to be applied; and there was property damage for which we paid and were told would be reimbursed. I had contacted them a few times previously by email and left phone messages, and then again most recently on Jul 1, 2020 and then again on July 27, 2020. Since I cannot get a response, do I need to send a lien waiver or since it's been well over 60 days since services were rendered, can I assume they cannot come back to me asking for any further payment?

GeorgiaI am a supplier and I completed a job in March. I was never paid because it fell between the cracks. I was to start another separate project last month, but I delivered the materials, but never did the job. Can I still file a lien?
MinnesotaWe did not send preliminary notice within 45 days of the first furnishing on this FL project. We do anticipate payment problems. The job is still ongoing. If we send prelim notice for material going forward, will we have lien rights? Please provide further details on how the company can protect ourselves form a forecasted payment problem on this job. Floridai have a promissory note with property used as collateral for monies loaned. the document is undated as the property was supposed to be sold to cover the loans but it doesnt apppear to have sold yet and i have not heard from them in six months. we left the dates open on the note to cover when it sold
