I have paid the lien in full, which was filed without a claimant's signature, and they are not releasing it.
ArizonaA Landscaper put a lien on my house for $1,500.00 but only did a portion of the work. This work was done in 10/2020 and he didn’t file a lien til 8/2021 and never notified me. I am now trying to sell my house but I have this lien, how do I get it removed? The work was for $1,000.00 which I have in writing. What are my options?
Rhode IslandI hired a painter & he states the job is complete, however, he did not fulfill his obligations per the contract & is now trying to add additional fees that were not agreed upon. He’s stated that he has completed the job but there are several areas that have not been painted with two coats as the contract stated. He’s now threatened to file a lien for the amount originally agreed to plus an additional $2,400 that was never discussed. Can he file a lien if the work has not been completed & he refuses to come complete the job?
TexasFraudulent and Deceptive building trades contractor stole almost a hundred thousand dollars from us for shoddy, non-performed work, hap hazard covered up work with sheetrock and insulation, over charged us for work not performed, charged us for work that he did wrong or made mistakes on, charged us for labor and materials that he never supplied, etc. Horrible outcome. Had to tear almost everything out and redo almost all of his work and mistakes. Re-work has cost more than $30,000 already and still not finished with the work he did wrong and covered up with sheetrock and insulation to hide it.

TexasI own a water mitigation company. I filed a mechanics lien via levelset on the 90th day of the last day on the job (deadline in MI) to collect payment from a customer.
Levelset has issued a notification that as of today, I am past the deadline. Is this correct? Does the lien have to be recorded on the 90th day, or filed (the lien paperwork shows filed on 11/4/21 which is within the deadline) on the 90th day? Thanks in advance.
MichiganThe roof was replaced through an insurance claim on a home we're buying. We are supposed to close on the home this week but it has been disclosed that the insurance hasn't fully paid for the roof yet and we know the seller is financially broke. The insurance check will be going to the seller. If the seller doesn't pay the contractor as agreed is it possible for the contractor to put a lien on the home after we've purchased it?
IndianaHired Contractor to paint our house. We agreed upon a rate of $160 per day and he said it will take him 2 weeks to complete. After a week we noticed he was going very slow and taking his time. He said he will need another 3 weeks to complete everything(4 weeks total when we agreed upon 2) we said this is unacceptable as you originally promised 2 weeks. We then agreed on a fixed amount instead of the original 160 per day. After completion he took the money and left. We just got a mechanics Leon notice from him months later saying we owe him more money as he is trying to charge us for 160 per day for the 4 weeks. We never agreed upon this. We never signed any documents either discussing this. Our agreement was 100% verbal. Does his claim Have any merit? We will be forced to pay the amount he’s trying to get from us?

New YorkAfter Hurricane Sally we have Replaced roof, siding and handled the interior damage with carpet remaining, I have not installed the carpet yet as the homeowner has said he is busy and he has a $36,000 balance as of now.
AlabamaWas hired to hang kitchen cabinets for $150. Needed supplies came out of that amount. During first day (Tues), all cabinet doors as well as shelf units already in place were stained and ready to be hung the following day.
After much back and forth with the acting general contractor, they were hung the next day (Wed)and the area cleaned.
Contractor, then declared job was unfit and threatened docking pay due to a cabinet (in reality a cabinet found in an alley that was initially designed to fit under a bathroom vanity) settling on the plaster wall in which it was hung causing a 1/16in drop on one side.
On the following SUNDAY, after my daily calling and demanding my pay ($100 at this point), I was given $60 and told to be happy.
Although its a minor amount, I feel that this woman got MUCH more quality work than she paid for, even at the quoted rate. My question is do I have a case to file? It will be a pittance in comparison to most Mech. Liens, but the principle makes it priceless to me.
MissouriI am not a licensed mechanic and performed work on a vehicle in missouri that was given to me. Turns out to be a lien on it for $150. The lien holder has apparently moved out of state and i have been unable to locate him. Can i file a mechanic lien for the work that was done?
