Our company operates in several states. Can the designated person in Arizona also apply to be on the New Mexico license as the designated person? Also, can a resident of Arizona that works on a work permit be our company designated person? Can we have more than one designated person?
New MexicoHello, I am a general contractor in Minnesota and wanted to come down to help rebuild. What would I need to do and how would I go about that? I've got a roofing crew, siding, drywall, painting, tree removal.. I do understand I would need workers comp from a Florida company. I have had general liability for years already.
FloridaI as being asked to be the qualifying party for a company so they can be a Licensed Contractor and open the opportunity for bigger jobs. They have offered me 5% ownership of the company and 5% of the profit split. I would like to know if 5% ownership and 5% profit split is reasonable for the risk of me becoming the qualifying party for the License.
LouisianaI own and operate a HVAC business as a C type LLC in Florida under my state license, lets call it biz-1. A fellow contractor died and the family is selling us the business, biz-2. How do we absorb and operate that biz-2 along with my current biz-1 under my existing license without qualifying a second company? What legal changes are required of biz-2 at Sunbiz and the DBPR? Should we disolve/close biz-2 corporation and open a dba with their name under my current corporation? We don't want to disrupt biz-2 customers by changing names on trucks, uniforms, and biz cards and the way calls were answered. Hope this makes sense. Thank you.
FloridaI am a small electrical contractor from Massachusetts with a Mass “masters & journeyman” licenses in business for 27 years. What would I have to do to acquire a certified Florida electrical contractors license. I have read several articles that seem to give different answers. Would any service assist with this. I am not against taking the exam, although it’s been a while.

FloridaWork wasn't completed. Damage to property occurred and business admitted fault twice in writing. They filed a lien but from what I've read on your site, it is prohibited by law for them to file lien in TN and VA. I told them I'd pay once work was completed and damage repaired. I want their plan in writing. They won't put it in writing.

CaliforniaWe hired a contractor and his company. He stated he can do it all. Literally the name of his company. He promised us a completion date. We went right past that date by over two months when we finally came to an agreement to part ways with the agreement that he would pay us back money. He paid a small amount back but refuses to pay any more back. They also got our electricity illegally. They were extremely shady about everything. I have text messages and a recording of things. I have pictures. I have paperwork. I want these guys in jail and my money back. This is not ok that they are walking around with no repercussions of their actions. We did find out they are not licensed and are still working on other peoples houses.
