Preliminary Notice
South Carolina
My company is a General Contractor providing development and engineering services to four projects of a solar developer located in different counties of South Carolina. The developer holds each of those sites under option at this point and we have provided various services including land assessment, engineering, environmental assessment etc but no physical labor. I have tried sending out a notice of intent to lien to the developer for each of these projects, but Levelset shows that no product is available for that. I'm not sure why it shows like that or if there is a different document that I need to send to the developer to recover my dues. Please advise....Read More

South CarolinaMechanics LienPreliminary Notice
I live in Greenville County, SC, inside the city limits of Greenville, near Mauldin. I had repair work done on my house on September 30, 2021. I am the owner. The work was begun and completed in one day. I paid the general contractor in full at the time the work was completed. No further work has been done since that time. To the best of my knowledge the Notice of Commencement was not filed, and a notice of non-responsibility was not filed. The GC has had difficulty paying a subcontractor in full. I received a Notice of Furnishing Labor and Materials by certified mail from the subcontractor today, December 23, 2021. I am not aware that any further legal action has been taken, but it is always possible that I will receive another certified letter in a few days. Am I liable for a mechanic's lien? What are the limitations on my liability?...Read More

South CarolinaPreliminary Notice
Good Afternoon, I am creating a 'Notice of Furnishing' document for our project 'Holly Hills, SC - O'Reilly'. The document details page requires that I enter a 'Date Labor or Materials Last Delivered', however we are not yet finished with the job. I am assuming that I can just put today's date, however I don't want to forfeit our future lien rights by doing so. What date should I enter as the 'last delivered date' to avoid any lien rights issues? Thank you!...Read More
