Last date of labor provided at site was 6/12/2020. An amount of $12,067 is still pending to be paid out of a total of $26,057. Sent a 'Notice of Intent to File a Lien' on 10/8/2020 through Levelset. No agreeable conclusion was reached with the Client. Want to file the Lien now. Levelset says it needs to be done through a Lawyer in MD. Deadline is 12/9/2020. My company performed and emergency leak repair for Coppin State University (Maryland University System) in June under a purchase order issued by the University procurement department. The PO specified payment terms of net 25. They are currently over 90 days past the 25 and have not yet paid us. I have this licensed contractor who did work on my basement. We had asked him to take our credit card for payment. He said he wanted cash or check so he can avoid the fees. We said no you need to take our credit card in which he never said he didn’t take them. Now he’s threatened to put a mechanis lien on our house. This is so crazy we’re not denying him payment!! I was a subcontractor on a residential Heat Pump Installation where I installed 2 Heat Pumps in an attick. The GC said that he did not put enough funds in the insurance claim and said that he could not pay me the balance of 10k for 2 years. I called the insurance company and they confirmed that the money was there but the GC has just not submitted the completion form. I think he is trying to get out of paying me.
