A contractor filed a fraudulent lien against my house in 2018. The lien includes work that was never at all done by him, work that was done but never approved by myself or my insurance company, and work that is so very poorly done it was considered not structurally sound by an unbiased structural engineer. His lien was never enforced. I have filed a claim against this contractor for fraud. Can I file against the attorney who filed this lien for him? His attorney obviously did no research, asked no questions, before filing this lien which also bears his, the attorney’s, own name on it as well… ???...Read More

His lien was never enforced. Your site says this has to have been enforced within a year. I have filed a claim against him for fraud. How do I get this lien taken off of my house considering its now been 3 years? ...Read More

Hired a Pool builder He has done a horrible job. We paid 75% . He is demanding his balance and its not done. He added more concrete charges that are not even correct nor did we agree to either. We have to tear it all out and start over. We are in Kansas. Our city inspectors say he has NO pool license, no bond nothing with them. Can a unlicensed person file a mechanics lien on our property in Kansas or even try to collect on his inflated final bill? There are no change orders nothing. ...Read More

I am working for an austrian based company and we want to do electrical installation in the U.S. (especially in Kansas). However, not our employees will do the installation, but rather employees from our suppliers. Now the question would be: Which licences do we need in order to be allowed to do electrical installation? It would be a great help if you could answer our questions. Thanks a lot in advance!...Read More

I was working for a Contractor on a job site as an hourly subcontractor when the contractor told me he was going to severely under estimate the amount of hours from 80 that I had put in to 50, I walked off the job site immediately, I have proof that the kind of hours had absolutely nothing to do with my performance on the job site, he was simply trying to stiff me, do I have a right to compensation for the hours that I worked, can I obtain this through a lien, and is it a good idea to contact the homeowner personally before submitting a formal notice of intent?...Read More
