i am trying to find out which states require construction companies to be licensed. I saw your download, but that is really about bonding. I am asking about licenses
Nothing has occurred. I need to know which states require construction companies to be licensed. It appears that Missouri does but the licenses are issued by the city. Does that mean they need one in every city in Missouri in which they work?

Contractor licensing requirements are not universal, and can change from state to state, county to county, or city to city. This can make understanding and complying with licensing requirements for contractors working in multiple locations difficult.
While there are no universal rules, a general rule of thumb is that it is often required to be licensed in order to perform residential construction work, and other speciality jobs like asbestos/hazardous work require licenses.
