How do I file intent to lien against multiple property owners at multi-unit property, work done for one GC

ColoradoMechanics Lien

I'm the electrical subcontractor on a property developed and GC'ed by one company/individual. He developed two addresses into (2) 4-plex residential units. Each unit is individually owned by buyers. Can I send out individual intents to lien for my mechanic's lien to each property owner for the full amount owed to me? Total amount owed is $7,000.

Generally, in Colorado, a mechanics lien can attach to buildings spanning multiple lots if it's all a part of the same project. However, when there are separately owned properties, separate mechanics liens will be required. And, that means separate Notices of Intent to Lien would generally be required to preserve rights against each property. If that's the case, each lien and notice should only attempt to secure the value owed that's tied to the specific property that the notice or lien pertains to. Finally, note that if the work was on a one or two-family home, and if the property is sold, the lien deadline gets shortened from 4 months after last furnishing to a mere 2 months after last furnishing. Further discussion here: When is the deadline to file a Colorado mechanics lien?
