Levelset helps users all over the country file mechanics liens - including both Kansas and Texas. You can begin the lien ordering process through Levelset here. Further, for more background on filing liens in these states: (1) How to File Your Texas Mechanics Lien – A Step by Step Guide; and (2) How to File a Kansas Mechanics Lien A Practical Guide. Regarding the second question - in the vast majority of states (including both Kansas and Texas), a claimant isn't required to utilize a lawyer to get their mechanics lien filed. Mechanics liens, in nearly every state, are mere filings in the property record and don't automatically create a lawsuit. So, as long as a lien claimant follows the necessary requirements, they're able to file a lien on their own. And, claimants can also use other non-lawyer third-party services to help with the process - including Levelset. Of course, if a filed mechanics lien ultimately needed to be enforced, a lawyer would likely be necessary for that - though most lien claims don't come to that. More on that here: A Mechanics Lien Is Not an Automatic Lawsuit If you're worried about the lien deadline closing in - you can find deadline information for Texas and Kansas mechanics liens at these pages: (1) Texas Mechanics Lien Guide and FAQs; and (2) Kansas Mechanics Lien Guide and FAQs. Or, you can also use the Levelset Payment Rights Advisor tool to get insight on any project deadlines.
