Can an Engineering consultant file a lien against a property in Indiana? We have a contract with the property owner

Professional engineers are entitled to mechanics lien rights in Indiana, just as any other claimant would be. So, as long as an engineer has performed work or provided labor or services which led to the permanent improvement of the property, that engineer would typically be entitled to file an Indiana mechanics lien. Note, however, that a claimant might be able to recover payment without actually having to file a mechanics lien - often, the mere warning or threat of a lien claim will be enough to compel payment. By sending a document like a Notice of Intent to Lien, a prospective lien claimant can let the property owner know that they're serious about getting paid and that they're unafraid to do whatever it takes to make sure that happens. Thank you for the answer. What if our services were just and inspection of the building, so no improvements were performed?
