Do I need to send an amended prelien after a lot of change notices?

CaliforniaChange OrdersPreliminary Notice

What happens when your pre lien amount is accurate but then the project has many change notices adding up to a substantially higher amount? Can you amend a pre-lien or add to the total amount in some other way?

Under civil code § 8200(a)(2), a preliminary notice must include “An estimate of the total price of the work provided and to be provided.” But, it’s just that – an estimate. As long as the original estimate is made in good faith and has been calculated based on some reasonable basis there is no need to amend the notice of the amount changes.
