In Ohio, if a contractor or supplier doesn't get paid on a construction project, they can file a mechanics lien to secure payment. If you are interested in filling an Ohio mechanics lien, Prime contractors don't have to follow a preliminary notice deadline. In regards to the lien deadline, the lien in Ohio is due 75 days from last furnishing labor or materials, and 60 days on residential projects. Ohio has a lengthy enforcement deadline considering a contractor interested in enforcing a lien has 6 years from the time they filed the lien.

If you are interested in filing an Ohio mechanics lien this post on how to file the line step-by-step is likely to be helpful to you. Good luck!
