If your last work was less than a month ago and was not solely for punch-list work, then you would be able to start with a Notice of Intent to File Lien Statement, then follow-up with recording a lien if you remain unpaid 10 days after you send the Notice. It could include language that the GC indemnify the homwoener in the event of a subcontractor claim, but that would not stop subcontractors from being able to send a notice of intent or record a lien. While a lot of the lien waivers/releases are similar in nature, there is not a set standard on what language is contained in the document.
