Why did I received my previously sent package of documents for recording a mechanics line if I have sent all requirement

CaliforniaMechanics Lien

I work as administrator for my husband's general construction business. I started the process to put lien in a property. Followed the steps as to send first after 20 days the letter of intent to lien via certified mail, waited 20 more days to send to county clerk for recording the claim of mechanics lien form filled and the proof of service form filled as well. I received all back, requesting to send the missing "notice of mechanic's lien" to be able to proceed. My question is, what am I missing exactly if I sent the claim for mechanics lien, what is the notice of mechanics lien I being asked to send. Thanks for any help to you can provide me with to continue with this process.

California mechanics lien filings can be a bit of a headache. And, it seems like California county recorder offices have been rejecting documents at a higher rate since the coronavirus outbreak and shutdowns. For the most clarity on why your document was rejected, it'd be helpful to contact the recorder and describe to them the rejection reason you received. They should be able to walk you through what, exactly, they found wrong with the filing. Additionally, this article has a thorough breakdown of what must be included in the filing: How to File A California Mechanics Lien – Step By Step Guide To Get You Paid. Generally, though - it sounds like the term "Notice of Mechanics Lien" refers to the statutory language included at California Civil Code § 8416(a) beginning with "NOTICE OF MECHANICS LIEN..." But again - the recorder should be able to verify that information or clarify what, if anything, is missing. You can also download Levelset's free template for CA mechanics lien claims which includes that notice: California Claim Of Lien Form.
