As a subcontractor in order to have lien rights you must timely deliver a notice to owner (assuming that the GC does not have a payment bond for the project). If you have done so or will do so then you may file a construction lien during the execution of your work for any unpaid labor, services and materials that are in place. A lien and any amendments to it may be filed up to 90 days from the completion of your work, excluding trivial and punch-out work.

Did you send out a Notice to Owner? If so, you should record a claim of lien within ninety days of your last date of furnishing, unless there’s a bond on the job and then you should do a notice of claim against the bond. Don’t wait.
