When filing a mechanics lien should the amount on the lien be for entire balance or just change orders in question

Florida

We received approval from our customer (general contractor) to proceed with change orders. We have since furnished and now the owner will not approve the change orders. Our customer has suggested we file a lien. I am not sure if I should file for the entire balance they owe or just the amount of the change orders.

You may lawfully file a lien for all unpaid work in place.

You should lien for the amount you haven’t been paid. But you should also get advice on whether an unsigned change order is sufficient to as a legal basis for a lien
