When Are you entitled to your down payment back when you cancel your contract, by law?

MinnesotaConstruction ContractNotice of Termination

I have terminated a contract I signed with construction co. I have given them $7,000, including $1,000 deductible. I’ve been sent a bill for services, estimates and project manager fee , totaling $2,230. By law, how long do they have to return my initial deposit after terminating the contract with said company.

The terms of the contract between you and the contractor determines when they have to return your deposit. If the terms are silent or if no contract exists you need to sue claiming they were unjustly enriched and not entitled to keep the deposit. I would be glad to help.
