What's next after filing the mechanic lien?

ColoradoForeclosureLien ForeclosureMechanics Lien

I'm a subcontractor, I filed a mechanic lien I haven't gotten a payment but now it seems they will auction the property. What should I do next to be able to get payment?

Filing a mechanics lien is a great way to force payment, but a lien filing doesn't always mean that payment will immediately be made. And, this is especially true when the property or owners are in distress. If it looks like the property will soon be auctioned in a foreclosure, it'd be wise to quickly consult a Colorado construction attorney. They'll be able to help make sure your mechanics lien claim is given the respect it's due and make sure the property can't be auctioned without your lien being taken into account. At the very least, making sure everyone involved is aware of your lien filing would be a good idea. Sending additional notice to the property owner, sending notice to other creditors, notifying the mortgage company, etc. could all make sure that you aren't left out in the cold while the property is being auctioned off. Finally, this article should be helpful: The 4 Steps to Take After Filing a Mechanics Lien. Those steps won't perfectly fit every situation - particularly one where the property is headed to foreclosure. But, the ideas shared there can still be helpful. And again, if an auction is imminent, consulting an attorney would be wise.
