Some ideas: 1. Take steps to let the owner, GC, and lender know the bond claim has been filed. They may have business reasons to get a bond claim resolved that are more important than just your claim. 2. Continue to make personal contact with the owner, surety and GC to push for payment. 3. Investigate whether your state has a prompt pay law that can be used to expedite investigation and discovery or other relief. 4. Hire a good lawyer who's done this before (I'm presuming you haven't yet or you'd be asking him or her). 5. Find, pull together, retain and organize the key relevant documents and information supporting your claim. Create a master spreadsheet with claim amounts, due dates, setoffs, and footnotes or other index numbers to supporting documents and data (so the lawyer you're paying doesn't have to.) Save yourself some money and cull out the irrelevant documents but keep them to the side. 6. If you're in court, move for early mediation or other voluntary dispute resolution. These are just ideas, not legal advice. The situation and circumstances dictate the next steps and there's not really enough information here for a pinpoint correct answer.
