Very recently, Governor Cooper issued a statewide stay at home order for North Carolina residents. Compared to other states, though, this stay at home order is pretty relaxed. It states that businesses are deemed "essential" and may remain open if they meet Social Distancing Requirements - which, on a construction project, should be relatively attainable.
What's more, there are a lot of carveouts for construction businesses. Work being done in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, public works construction, construction at hospitals, work at long term care facilities, school construction, and "essential commercial and housing construction" will be deemed "essential" as well.
Note, though, that your city or county may have a stay home order in place that's more strict than the statewide requirements. So, it's a good idea to keep an eye on local news and announcements from governmental agencies. Additionally, this tracker should be valuable - and it's being updated several times a day: Can I do Construction Work In my State?
