You would need to be licensed just like any business. Tile installation does not require a DBPR license BUT there are things that you might do in the course of your work that do require a license. Plumbing and electrical are big ones that gets overlooked. You should familiarize yourself with the scope of the licenses that are required by DBPR and make sure that you aren't contracting or performing unlicensed work as you can be penalized.

Small tile jobs are not state regulated. There may be a local construction license that is required. Check with the building department in the locale where the work will be performed. You may also need a occupational license.
