Assuming that you have also sent a copy of the lien to the owner and general contractor by certified mail, the next step would be to file a lawsuit to perfect your lien. This needs to be filed within 365 days of the date you filed the lien. Also, within 30 days of the filing of your lawsuit, you must file a "notice of action" in the property records where the lien was filed, which refers to the lawsuit.
