Trim carpentry and cabinetry do not require state licenses. In some local municipalities, they do. So for example, in Pinellas County, trim carpenters must have a local license through the county, even though no state license is required. You should look up your local building department and see if they have information on local licenses and look for trim carpentry or cabinet licenses. Sometimes you only have to pay a fee to get the license. Sometimes you have to provide evidence of your experience level in order to get the license. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me directly. I regularly help people out with these types of licensing issues.
