What lawyer do i need?

DelawareMechanics Lien

I am looking for a lawyer that deals with contractors for a homeowners case? I am the homeowner and have had nothing but problems with my contractor with leaving unfinished work. Not completing work and demanding me to pay and if i don't he is threatening me by taking me to court and suing me. I am not looking to sue him rather just to have my case heard and in need of a lawyer in case the contractor takes me to court? Disputes between the (Contractor) and myself being the (homeowner.)

You should speak with an attorney familiar with construction disputes. They might be able to assist in convincing the contractor to finish the work to your satisfaction. And, they can assist if the contractor files suit.

One word of caution, these disputes can become very expensive very quickly, in terms of legal fees and expenses. You may want to contact the Attorney General’s Consumer Fraud Division as I believe they are setting up a mediation program for disputes such as yours. That might be a less costly way to resolve the dispute, and you might not need an attorney to participate in mediation. It still would be a good idea to meet with an attorney to get prepared for mediation, but having them “in the room” might not be necessary.
