what is the statute of limitations of a sub contractor filing civil suit against owner

FloridaLawsuit

I lived and worked onsite for a motel as a subcontractor. When I left, the owner and his son whom is the manager refused to pay me the 4 weeks he owed me . Also the owner was not only sexually harrassing me but also verbally by calling me vulgar names and explaining about his many penile implants he had had even after I told him that was not appropriate.; I just want my back pay plus compensation for his harrassment and I HAVE SEVERAL WITNESSES TO PROVE THIS AS SAME HAPPENED TO THEM. He owed me approx 800 + , however I feel i should sue for a minimum 10,000 in small claims court for all the abuse. They said they had to repaint the room I was living in and it cost all the money he was supposed to pay me??!! I happen to know that he has the other employees paint everything there as part of there work.; HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE TO FILE A CIVIL LAWSUIT AND DO I NEED AN ATTY OR IS THIS MINOR ENOUGH TO DO MYSELF. Thank you so much, I can't get any information from anyone and found your website. K Duncan PLEASE DON'T BOMBARD ME WITH SOLICITATION PLEASE. im on a pre paid phone and currently liviing in my car. Hard times right now but I'll bounce back.

It sounds like you have more of an employment law issue rather than a construction law one. My suggestion is that you contact a local labor and employment attorney, who may be able to help you out.
