What is the proper way to "fix" a prelien that the $ amount has increased significantly?

California

Hi, we are a Material Supplier. I did a prelien a little over a month ago, since then our customer has added nearly a million dollars in new invoices to the project. How should I go about this? Do I need to amend the current prelien, do another one? Can you please help me with this? ( It is not something that I want to do incorrectly!) Thank you, Pam

Hello Pam,

It is probably a good idea to do an "Amended and Supplemental Preliminary Notice." With this much money at stake, it may behoove you to speak to a construction attorney or contact Levelset directly to make sure this is done correctly. Some practictioners will advise that you do not necessarily have to amend your preliminary notice; others will advise that it is the safe thing to do.
