What is the next step after Preliminary notice has been sent?

MinnesotaMechanics LienPreliminary Notice

We are a subcontractor who finished working on the job site in December 2022. I have sent a Preliminary notice to the people at the job site and the owner of the building. What can we do now or is there something we can do to enforce our rights?

I recommend a law suit. It is likely to late to file a lien as it is past the 120 day mark.

Minnesota lien law requires recording and serving a mechanic’s lien statement within a fixed number of days following the last day of work. If you miss the deadline, you lose your lien rights. You should contact legal counsel immediately to determine whether you’re able to protect your lien rights.
